净斯烛 「不掉泪的蜡烛」
台湾花莲静思精舍常住自制的蜡烛，慈济人称之为「不掉泪的蜡烛」。
这种蜡烛源起于证严上人修行之初，看到传统的蜡烛，烛泪涔涔，滴在桌面，既不惜福又不干净，于是上人思考如何让油尽烛灭，完全燃烧。一九八一年间，上人的智慧巧思，以养乐多空罐当模具，以香为烛心，稳定烛心的圆铁片则取材自浪板上的小五金，待蜡油凝固冷却后，拨下养乐多罐，包上透明纸外衣，即是一支不落泪的蜡烛。早期静思精舍都以此种蜡烛作结缘之用。
一九八二年，静思精舍采用自动机器模型大量制造，并成为常住众的经济来源之一。
上人勉励慈济人，要学习这种蜡烛不掉泪的精神，勇敢面对人生。而人心中的爱，也如同蜡烛心，需要点燃，才能发挥良能。

Jing Si Candle - "The Tear-Free Candle"
This candle is handcrafted by the resident monastics of Jing Si Abode in Hualien, Taiwan, and is affectionately known by Tzu Chi members as the "tear-free candle."
Its origin dates back to the early days of Dharma Master Cheng Yen's spiritual practice. Observing that traditional candles dripped wax tears onto surfaces, which was both wasteful and unclean, she contemplated how to create a candle that would burn completely without waste. In 1981, with wisdom and ingenuity, she used empty Yakult bottles as molds, incense sticks as wicks, and small metal pieces from corrugated sheets to stabilize the wicks. Once the wax solidified and cooled, the bottles were removed, and the candles were wrapped in transparent paper—thus creating a tear-free candle. In the early days, Jing Si Abode offered these candles as gifts of affinity.
By 1982, the Abode began mass-producing these candles using automated machinery, and they became one of the sustainable sources of income for the resident community.
Dharma Master Cheng Yen encourages Tzu Chi members to embody the spirit of the tear-free candle—facing life's challenges with courage and resilience. Just as the wick of a candle must be lit to shine, the love within our hearts must be ignited to realize its full potential.
