Time is Limited, Kindness is Infinite"It’s too late." These words struck Cai Shuqin when she first heard Master Cheng Yen’s teaching in 2013, during the second year of her battle with breast cancer. Visiting the Jing Si Abode in Taiwan, she heard: “Seize the moment; if it is the right thing, just do it.” She realized then that time is limited, and one must act immediately. From that moment, she vowed to dedicate herself to serving society.

Back in Singapore, she joined Tzu Chi’s missions, including “Great Love Mothers,” Sutra Transcription, and institutional care, serving as Vice Assistant Leader. An accident in 2014 paused her work, but after recovering in 2016, she retrained and became a certified Committee Member in 2019. She knows that being a Tzu Chi member means not only participating actively, but deeply understanding Tzu Chi’s four major missions to inspire others.

"A single thought is like a seed." By fate, Cai Shuqin joined Tzu Chi’s Jing Si Humanities Promotion. Every task—from brewing drinks and pricing items to organizing shelves and handling checkout—became a new opportunity to learn. At first, it felt mechanical, but she soon realized that her work was not just about selling, but about sharing compassion and wisdom.

During a Four-in-One Camp, she heard: “Distress over expired food is not about money, but the heart, sweat, and dedication behind it.” She embraced the responsibility to share the story behind every item and convey the true value of Jing Si and Tzu Chi products.
