"Just do it, and everything will fall into place."
These words, softly spoken, were not a fleeting emotion—they were a genuine insight born from inner transformation.
In June 2025, accompanied by Tzu Chi volunteer Sister Lifang, Liu Xiumei joined a reading session at Jing Si Books & Cafe. A chapter on parent–child relationships in Clarifying Doubts deeply moved her, awakening gentle reflections on family and connection.
Reading, Finding Peace of Mind
“I always thought that fulfilling my child’s needs was the best kind of love,” she shared. “Yet the reply was often, ‘I don’t need it.’” The sadness and doubt once made her question herself. She kept those feelings quietly inside until, through the reading sessions and heartfelt sharing, her heart slowly opened. She came to realize that giving without truly understanding is only projection. True love means letting go of “what I thought,” learning to listen, empathize, and respect—and, when needed, to give space.
“Now I cherish time with my family more, reminding myself to nurture harmony with understanding and tolerance. That, to me, is the beginning of growth.” Through the fragrance of books and gentle companionship, Liu Xiumei has found a haven for her heart—drawing her closer to Tzu Chi, to kindness, to love, and to her warm, awakened self.
From confusion to clarity,
growth comes from the heart’s reflections.
In books, we understand ourselves;
in companionship, we feel true emotion—
finding life’s light and warmth.
